Terms and Abbreviations

This section contains the definitions for terms and abbreviations used in the Creately API documentations

Term Definition
Consumer Denotes the person/organisation that is or is going to be using the Creately API.
Consuming Service The application or service that uses the Creately API to integrate to Creately.
User Generally denotes the user of the consuming service.
CT Stands for Client Token Authentication. A method to authenticate the API using Creately account credentials. See more
CST Stands for Client Session Token. A token that is obtained during API login method. See more
SA Stands for Service Authentication. A method to authenticate the API using a API Key and a Signature. See more
TRT Stands for Temporary Redirect Token. A token that is used to authenticate a API user to creately.com. See more
API Key Is a key provided by Creately to access the API. Acts as a identifier for the Consumer. See more
Shared Secret Is a password string provided by Creately to sign the API requests. Acts as the password for the Consumer. See more
Signature Is a one way hash of a API method request sent along with the method request. This is used validate the Consumer's API Key authenticity the integrity of the request. See more
